چکیده
Abstract Within the DLR project VicToria an aerodynamic and aero-acoustic optimization of helicopter rotor blades is performed. During optimization, three independent flight conditions are considered: hover, cruise descent flight. The first two drive power requirements rotor, while loudest condition for current generations. To down required emitted noise, a multi-objective design approach coupled with surrogate models utilized to find Pareto optimal set rotors. This allows identify trade-offs be made when laying emphasis on either goal function. underlying CFD simulations utilize fourth-order accurate spatial schemes capture vortex dominated flow blades. paper presents validation setups, results off-design analysis chosen from front. conclusion that utilization front necessary good designs, high-order methods efficient setups.

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to determine the aerodynamic and acoustic features of speech produced at comfortable, maximal and minimal levels of vocal effort. STUDY DESIGN Prospective, quasi-experimental research design. METHOD Eighteen healthy participants with normal voice were included in this study. After task training, participants produced repeated syllable combinations at...
متن کاملFricative production modelling: aerodynamic and acoustic data
The aerodynamic and acoustic phenomena involved in the production of fricative consonants are far from being completely understood. The overall Ievel and spectral characteristics of the radiated sound pressure are known to primarily depend on the aerodynamic state of the vocal tract, i.e. the pseudo-static pressure drop across the main oral constriction and the cross-sectional area of the const...
متن کاملChallenges in Rotorcraft Acoustic Flight Prediction and Validation
Challenges associated with rotorcraft acoustic flight prediction and validation are examined. First, an outline of a state-of-the-art rotorcraft aeroacoustic prediction methodology is presented. Components including rotorcraft aeromechanics, high resolution reconstruction, and rotorcraft acoustic prediction are discussed. Next, to illustrate challenges and issues involved, a case study is prese...
متن کاملEfficient Aerodynamic Shape Optimization
Since the present author first became involved in computational fluid dynamics, around 1970, the landscape has changed dramatically. At that time, panel methods had just come into use, and the world’s fastest super computer, the Control data 6600, had only 131000 words of memory (about 1 megabyte). Prior to the break-through of Murman and Cole [1970], no viable algorithms for computing transoni...
